Dr Emma Dougherty qualified in 2002 from the University of Glasgow Dental School with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree with Commendation. During her work at Glasgow Dental Hospital she was awarded with numerous merits in a multitude of disciplines and qualified with distinctions in Paediatrics and Orthodontics. Additionally she won prizes both within Glasgow and nationwide for research conducted in Thailand in cross infection control. In 2004 Emma was awarded membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery, Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, Glasgow after two years of study.

Since completing Vocational Training in Glasgow Emma has worked in Hospital Dentistry undertaking two years of training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Orthodontics in Dumfries and Liverpool. In 2005 Emma returned home to Northern Ireland and worked in general practice before joining David Reaney & Associates in August 2006

Emma has a keen interest in putting nervous patients at ease by spending time with both adults and children who are anxious, and can provide treatment under intravenous and inhalation sedation if required. She is passionate about providing patients with a natural aesthetic appearance and spends much of her time providing treatments including tooth coloured adhesive fillings, veneers, crowns, tooth whitening and CEREC restorations.
